With a router, you would connect the internet modem (your aircard in this case) to the router, and then your PCs, laptops, PS3, etc. to the router as well.
I don't know of a router that supports an aircard - maybe AT%26amp;T has something but I doubt it.
Instead, what you can do is connect your PS3 to your laptop, and use your laptop as both a modem AND router.
To do this, you'll need to connect your PS3 to your laptop. The easiest way to do this is to use a crossover ethernet cable - this is a special sort of cable used for connecting 2 computers together without a router, hub or switch in between. You can buy them at any store that sells computer stuff - just be sure it says ';CROSSOVER'; on the cable.
Once you have your laptop online, and connect your PS3, you will then need to run Window's Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) wizard. This will configure your laptop as a very simple router between your Aircard and its ethernet port. You'll also have to configure the PS3's ethernet settings as instructed by the ICS wizard.
It IS possible to replace the crossover cable with a router. In this setup, the laptop would need to be connected via a regular ethernet cable to the WAN port on the router. The laptop would still need to have ICS configured and running, and the router will need to be configured to use your laptop as its gateway. The PS3 would then connect to the router (either via ethernet or WiFi, if supported.) If you had other PCs or devices in your house you also wanted to put online, this would be the way to do it. However if you only have your laptop and PS3, the crossover cable setup, above, is the easier method.
