PS3 questions...?

Hi I just got a PS3 and I got a few questions,

1. Is the PS3 internet compatible with a LINKSYS wireless internet thing.

2. The first controller that comes with the system...

It's not wireless is it... If it is please tell me how to use it wirelessly

It's the kind that uses a USB cord if that helps.

3. Does the Online PS3 website update often? New game demos? Can you get guides online?

4. Lastly, is the PS3 online community active?PS3 questions...?
1. Yes, the PS3 is compatible with the LINKSYS wireless router.

2. All of the controllers for the PS3 are Bluetooth wireless controllers, and yes, the controller that comes with the PS3 is a Bluetooth controller.

To use the PS3 controller wirelessly all you do is press the PS button on it and the controller will automatically connect to the PS3. The PS3 wireless controllers come with a USB cord for recharging as well.

If you buy a second PS3 controller you press the PS button and you simply assign the controller to a different number. (The first PS3 controller will be controller #1, and the second PS3 controller will be assigned as controller #2.)

3. The Playstation Store is updated with new demos and new content about once a week.

4. As for the PS3 online community being active, I think that it is very active. The new PS3 virtual online community called HOME is coming out Spring 2008 and when that comes out the online community will be buzzing with more PS3 users.PS3 questions...?
THe controller that comes with is wireless and comes with a usb cable to recharge it. You just sync the controller with the ps3.

Yes to the rest of your questions.
1. yes it is compatible with any wireless router

2. it is wireless, you need to pair it up with the system then you can use it wirelessly

3. system updates usually come out every 2-3 months. new demos comes out every thursday

4. yes it is active
No, that's not a wireless controller. I'm not sure what a LINKSYS wireless internet thing is, but if it's a router than it's probably compatible but may need to be configured. As for the other two questions, I wouldn't know since I rock the 360.
1. If the LINKSYS Wiresless router can transmit WiFi and you have the 60Gig or newer version of the PS3, it should work. Otherwise you can always use a Cat5e cable to connect the two, that would work fine.

2. Controller is wireless but needs to be charged with the included USB cable to function. Plus in the controller's USB cable to controller and USB port of PS3, leave PS3 on while system charges, then disconnect in due time.

3. Updates Every Thursday. No guides so far, everything else, yes.

4. There is no online PS3 community through the system, per say, except for games. Though there is a Sony PS3 board that is quite active acessable through a computer or the PS3's internet channel. Search through the Sony PS3 Website for it.
1. Yes, the PS3 is compatible because it uses whatever Internet you set it to after you scan for some.

2. Yes, well it depends. 30GB ones come with wireless ready to use controllers when the 60GB varies if you read the package.

3. The Online PS3 site is updated every 40 hours when the serves gets atleast 35,000 page views. It is the same with every PlayStation system. You will get new news, games, downloads, and more. Even Live podcasts.

4.The PS3 online community is active at different times.
1; yes

2; the usb is for charging or you can play with it connected. press the ps button to start. Since it is wireless it needs to be synced with the ps 3

3 updates on thursdays.

4 the forums are very busy

hi,

1) the PS3 is compatible with a LINKSYS wireless router. It has a G wifi card in it. So it is pretty fast. except the 40 Gb version has no wifi

2) The first controller that comes with it is a bluetooth, six axis controller that you recharge with a included mini USB cord.

3) The PS3 online website updates new stuff about once a week, which is pretty often. You get new game demos in that time too, but I dont think you can get a game guide on the store. You can start buying the actual games on the store right now.

EX. Warhawks is a game that is available to buy and download online.

4) The PS3 online community is very active. It has a average of 100,000 people on all the time. It also has folding home which lets you use your PS3 as computer power for the research in a search for a cure to cancer and it is also FREE

Hope this helped
1.yes thats what im doing

2. its wireless..... just press the PS button to turn it on and it has to be charged via the USB cable that comes with it.... every so often.... it takes about 2hrs for a full charge... you can charge while playing.....

3. yes...

4.yes....
1) Yes the system is compatible with LINKSYS (I run it with that)

2) Yes the controller that comes with it is a wireless bluetooth one. It comes with a USB cord that plugs into a USB slot and the top of the controller (this is used for charging the controller)

3) Yes the Playstation Network (PSN) updates very often, with different game and movie trailers, game demos, game add-ons (extra levels and weapons), and other fun stuff too. As of now, you can't download game guides online, but they'll probably start doing that within the near future.

4) Yes the PS3 online community is very active. Not only is only free, but it's also an amazing community with people on every second, and you can always find a game quick and easy.
