How do I get a better online PS3 connection?

I play PS3 games online.





I play COD games all the time and never have a problem. No lag and no disconnections. It's ACE!!





However when I try to play PES 2010 I always have problems. I can never get a green connection with anyone else, it's always red. Which means all the games I try to play end up with me having such bad lag that anything i press on the control pad happens on the screen 3 seconds later. I get beat all the time because of it.





Apart from changing my wireless connection to wired, is there anything I can do from my PS3 to increase the connectivity when I play PES 2010?How do I get a better online PS3 connection?
There was a good tip on the gadget show about getting tin foil and place it in a semi-circle towards the position of the ps3. so basically the distance routers reach is a kind of sphere, so if the router is next a wall and on the other side of that wall is outside your house the tin foil reflects the signal and boosts it in the direction of where you want it. Adjust your connection well. Make sure that no other devices are running using the same wireless. Sometimes the connection is disturbed by the intersection of too many devices.


Check the disk for any scratches or other problem. It also depends on the area you live in and the speed of your wireless.
Adjust your router, make sure everything is in good positioning and your PS3 is close enough to pick up any signals.
