look my problem is i have a second computer wich i need internet acess and i want to put my ps3 online how do i get internet access on that computer so i can hook up my ps3 on to that computer. Also i have a linksys router if that helps? How to get internet with a router to play ps3 online?
if you have a linksys router they usually have 1 WAN port that goes to your modem, and 4 LAN ports. 1 LAN port is probably used for your main computer, so just plug another cat5 cable from your second computer into an open LAN Port, then plug your PS3 Into another open lan port, you should still have yet another lan port open and everything should be onlineHow to get internet with a router to play ps3 online?
Assuming you can run cables from the computer and the PS3 to the router, the answer is really easy. Buy 2 patch cables. Plug the cables into the computer, the PS3 and the router. Done

OK you can only run one cable from the router to the room where the computer is. Buy a 4 port switch

router %26gt;%26gt; switch LAN Port #1

Switch LAN port #2 %26gt;%26gt; Computer

Switch LAN Port #3 %26gt;%26gt; PS3

You can't run a cable from the router to the room

Use a wireless access point (in the bridge mode) to get wireless to the room.

Router Wireless%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;Access point Wireless

Access point RJ45 %26gt;%26gt; switch LAN Port #1

Switch LAN port #2 %26gt;%26gt; Computer

Switch LAN Port #3 %26gt;%26gt; PS3

All Wireless

Get Wireless adapters for the PS3 and the computer

Connect each wirelessly to the router

Last choice - ( and the worst)

Put a wireless network adapter in the computer

Use ICS (Internet connection Sharing) to connect the LAN port on your computer to the LAN Port on the PS3

Detailed instructions are on your computer Start%26gt;help%26gt;enter ICS in the search box

This is the worst because the connection will be too slow for you to play any useful game, but it may (this is Microsoft after all) get you connected
