Playing friends online - PS3 Fifa 08?

I have got Fifa 08 on PS3, I usually play quick ranked matches with strangers. But I would like to play my friends. I have added them to my friends list, but how do I actually get to play them?Playing friends online - PS3 Fifa 08?
Well I think you go to 'Game Modes' and your friends have to be online at the same time as you i'm not exactly sure. But may I ask a question?


How do you actually get friends? I just typed random names and got it from there, but what I want to know is to get real friends?
